Genitle Warts

A Common Sexually Transmitted Disease

Genitle warts are indeed one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. This is for two reasons – (i) it is caused by a virus called HPV or human pappilomavirus which is transmitted through sexual contact and (ii) it takes anything from three weeks to one year for the symptoms to show, time in which the affected inadvertently passes on the virus to as many sexual partners he/ she comes into contact with.

The Symptoms – How Do You Know You Have Go Genitle Warts

Genitle warts as the name indicates manifest themselves in the form of warts in the genital area. When you are infected with the HPV virus, you would find wart on the vulva, inside the vagina, around it, around the anus and at the beginning of the cervix. In men the genitle warts would be found on the tip of the penis, around the anus, on the scrotum and even on the inner walls of the urethra.

The genitle warts initially look like small lesions which are totally painless – hence, most people ignore it. With the passage of time, the lesions grow on the skin, first imitating a mole and then gathering ‘friends’ until it looks a grape or cauliflower. The color of the genitle warts remains the same – skin color – but as it grows it starts giving burning sensation and pain in the area where it is situated.

There is another quite peculiar symptom that points to the infection with the HPV, i.e. when a person suffers from this condition, he/ she would find that the genital area is uncommonly wet/ humid despite the best efforts to keep it dry.

Getting Rid Of Genitle Warts – The Treatment

The bad news is that there no cure – not for HPV, nor for any virus that exists today. Another procedure involves cutting the warts off with the help of laser. This is a fast and very effective way of getting rid of the warts.
