Penis Warts
Genital Warts In Men
Genital warts in men are also called penis warts or condyloma because they are found on the penis – usually on the tip of it. Other places where you would find these warts in men are around the anus, on the scrotal sac and sometimes in the urethra. This is a condition that is caused by a virus known as human papillomavirus which is transmitted through sexual or skin contact. This is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, which though it is very uncomfortable does not involve any life threatening danger.
Types Of Warts
There are many types of warts, each type formed by a different strain of the virus. The warts formed also depend upon the way each person’s body reacts to the infection. Therefore, you would find different manifestation in different cases – some times the warts would resemble small lesions and sometimes you could find these as large lumps of flesh single or in a group. Unless they are removed and treated in time, these warts would over time become uncomfortable and painful.
Some Of The Symptoms That Accompany Penis Warts
The penis warts appear on the tip of the penis and while initially they are small and unobtrusive, they would gradually grow in size and number. For a better idea you could scan the Internet for some penis warts photos with the help of which you could identify if you or your sexual partner is suffering from this affliction.
Once you have an idea about how the penis warts look like, you could also check about the presence of the following symptoms:
1. Itchiness – the place where the penis warts have appeared and the surrounding area becomes very itchy. The more you scratch it, the more it would itch creating a very uncomfortable sensation.
2. Dampness – you would find that the genital region where the penis warts appear is unusually wet or damp. No matter how much you try to keep the skin dry, the dampness would be there. By the way, this virus thrives in dampness and hence, this condition would help it grow faster.
3. Burning – if left untreated for a longer period, the itchiness would change into burning sensation which would bring the uncomfortable level a notch higher. Sometimes, the burning sensation would be more pronounced during urination and/ or while passing stools. When this happens, there is a good possibility that the warts have found their way inside the body (urethra or anus).
4. Warts multiply – the penis warts start with one or two tiny lesions and over a period of time you would observe that these one or two lesions have metamorphed into a huge explosion of warts almost disfiguring the penis. The warts could be single or they could appear in a group which would give it an appearance of a cauliflower.
If you find that you suffer from any one or more of the above symptoms, you need to visit a doctor as soon as you can. The key to contain this virus (HPV) is early diagnosis and treatment. In the meantime, ensure that you include green and red vegetables in your diet as well as add vitamin supplements as these would boost your immune system and help overcoming the effects of the virus.
